1:48 Israeli helmet M76 (OR-201) with camouflage cover is a standalone accessory for figures — the Israeli helmet with a camouflage cover in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a whole figure.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a small accessory for figure modelers and builders of scenes, not a model of an airplane or a vehicle. Its content is a single piece of equipment — the Israeli M76 helmet, also listed as the OR-201, with a fabric camouflage cover. In 1:48 scale it suits aviation dioramas, smaller military scenes and replacing the helmet on a figure whose shape is only suggested. It is the basic form; the manufacturer also makes the same helmet in a variant designated as detailed and in 1:35 and 1:72 scale.
The OR-201 differs from European and American helmets in its deep shell and short brim. In the field it was worn practically always with a fabric cover pulled over the shell and drawn in around the rim, so the resulting outline is formed by the cover rather than by the helmet itself. Anyone who builds modern Israeli subjects will recognize it on a figure at once — and conversely, a bare shell without a cover looks unusual on a figure.
Before painting, wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry; residue of mold release agent or grease is the most common cause of paint peeling. Separate it from the casting block with a saw or a sharp knife — nippers would crush a part this small. Cyanoacrylate glue holds on resin and on plastic alike, so on a part of this size it is more practical than cement for plastic. Paint over a primer; in 1:48 there is no longer any point in writing out a detailed camouflage pattern, and a base shade, a fine lightening of the crown and a thin wash into the folds work far better. Matte varnish at the end gives the fabric the right surface.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
