Brengun 1:144 A6M2-N Rufe is a photo-etched detail set for a plastic kit of the floatplane fighter, not a model. According to the name there are two identical sets in the box.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory from the Czech maker Brengun, intended for the plastic model of the Japanese A6M2-N floatplane fighter named in the title. It is not a kit: according to the name the box holds two identical sets of photo-etched metal parts, and the aircraft model itself is not included.
The A6M2-N, given the Allied code name Rufe, was a floatplane conversion of the A6M2 carrier fighter. It received a large central float under the fuselage, a pair of outrigger floats under the wing and a revised vertical tail surface. The machine was meant to operate from water bases where no airfields were available. The silhouette with the floats makes the Rufe a conspicuous piece in a collection, one that stands out even in a small scale.
The smallest photo-etched parts are under a millimeter in this scale and fly off easily. Work over a light surface with a rim, or over a spread-out cloth, and use tweezers with fine, smooth tips. Do not grip a part hard, because thin sheet takes an impression. Dispense super glue from a drop spread on a piece of plastic and apply it with a pin or a wire so that the glue does not run into the surroundings. With the float fittings and the struts it pays to dry-fit the placement before the glue comes into play.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not include. The parts are supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
