A kit of the Soviet airfield starter AS-1 built on the GAZ-AA truck, in the 1:144 size. From the Ukrainian brand Armory.
Responsibility details are not available.
The small kit captures a special airfield vehicle of the Red Army in 1:144 scale. It is a separate model of equipment that suits aircraft of the same scale and an airfield scene, where ground crew and auxiliary vehicles tend to be noticeably lacking. The manufacturer is the Ukrainian brand Armory. In the end it is a rewarding accessory that can put a displayed aircraft into context.
The basis of the machine was the light truck GAZ-AA, a licensed counterpart of the American Ford produced in Gorky from 1932 and known by the nickname polutorka after its load capacity of one and a half tons. The starter served to turn over the piston engines of aircraft before takeoff, which was essential in the frosts of the Eastern Front. Fighter regiments practically could not do without a vehicle of this kind. The chassis of the same truck also served for a whole range of other special bodies.
Cut the smallest parts off only just before gluing, as otherwise they are easily lost. Paint the cab and the chassis separately before you join them. Soviet equipment suits a uniform green coat enlivened by shading, a thin dusty tint around the wheels and a fine bringing out of the edges with dry brushing. The wheels and the fenders deserve the most attention, because it is on them that the buildup of mud shows.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and further accessories are not included in the package.
