This resin detail set from Armory replaces the plastic landing gear wheels on models of the four-engine bombers B-24 Liberator and its naval derivative PB4Y Privateer in the small 1:144 scale. The wheels have a weighted tire effect (a flat spot at the contact patch) and a faithful diamond tread pattern. It is not an aircraft model but a small accessory for collectors of small scales.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was one of the most-produced American bombers of the Second World War; the PB4Y Privateer was its naval patrol variant with a single vertical tail. Realistic wheels improve the look of a model standing on its landing gear even in this small scale.
Given the small size of the parts, proceed carefully: wash the mold release agent off, cut them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The weighted tire effect comes out best when the flat spot is turned correctly toward the surface. Apply a primer before painting.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
