Beer Spitfire Mk.IX 1:144 is a resin set of underwing casks with which you turn a model of the Spitfire fighter into the famous beer supply flight.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a small resin set, not a model of the airplane. It contains cast beer casks meant to be hung under the wings of a Spitfire Mk.IX model in 1:144 scale. With them you can recreate one of the most likeable episodes of aviation history right on your own model.
After the Normandy landings in 1944, British Spitfires carried fresh beer from England over to the continent for the troops. The casks were hung on the underwing racks in place of drop tanks, and the altitude of the flight cooled the beer pleasantly as well. This improvisation became known as the Beer Spitfire and makes a rewarding subject for an unconventional diorama or a display piece.
For modelers who want to give their Spitfire a story and are not afraid of working with resin. Given the small scale, a more advanced builder will appreciate the set rather more.
This is a resin accessory set. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
