An aftermarket set of photo-etched metal parts for refining the external details of a plastic model of the Concorde supersonic airliner in 1:144 scale. The model of the airplane itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package; it is exclusively an accessory for the build. The photo-etched fret is cut for the Revell kit.
The Concorde was a supersonic airliner developed in French and British cooperation. Its distinguishing marks are the slender fuselage, a wing in the shape of an ogival delta and a droop nose section, which gave the pilots a view during the approach and landing. Power was provided by four jet engines placed in pairs under the wing. In regular service it flew on transatlantic routes from 1976 to 2003.
Photo-etched metal sheet makes it possible to produce thin external elements at a realistic thickness, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage because of technological limits. The set concentrates on the external details of the airframe and on small elements that decide most about the impression of the whole on a model, for example thin covers, sensors and fine surfaces. The model thus gains a more pronounced surface texture even at the relatively small size of 1:144 scale.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel on a firm surface and bend them in a bending tool or between two blades. Use cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount applied with the tip of a wire, so that the excess does not spread over the surface. Before painting, degrease the metal and apply a base for metal surfaces. With the white color typical of this aircraft, count on several thin coats and a good base, otherwise the small details are flooded.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
