Responsibility details are not available.
The F-35 Lightning II is a single-engine fifth-generation combat aircraft, built in three guises: for land airfields, for short takeoff with vertical landing and for aircraft carriers. It has entered service in North America, in Europe and in Asia, so the same type is worn in the colors of a number of states and differs in precisely the insignia, national markings and lettering. For modelers that means that one and the same model can represent a machine of an entirely different air force, given the right markings at hand.
The insignia of the user nations of the F-35 in 1:144 scale. Which states the sheet covers, and with how many repeats, is given by the manufacturer. The sheet is an accessory to a finished model and is used alongside the decals supplied with a kit, or in place of them.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version. A soaked self-adhesive film is ruined, whereas a wet decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later. With the wet version the method is the usual one: cut the element out close to the edge, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it moves on its backing. The surface beneath has to be glossy; on matte paint silvery edges will appear. Move the element into place, press the water out with a soft cloth and use a softener if needed so that the film draws down. Finally, varnish the model with a matte varnish.
The aircraft kit, paints, varnishes and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
