The Ilyushin Il-12D/T 1:144 plastic kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Amodel captures the military transport version of the Soviet postwar aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet twin-engine Ilyushin Il-12 transport aircraft in the military D/T versions. It is a short-run kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Amodel, which calls for a rather more careful approach than mainstream kits. In the small 1:144 scale it serves as a collector's model and as an addition to an airfield scene.
The Il-12 was a Soviet twin-engine transport aircraft of the late 1940s, designed to replace the older Li-2 (a license-built copy of the DC-3). In the Allied code it carried the name Coach. Alongside civil transport, military versions for carrying cargo and paratroops were built, and these are what the D and T variants represent.
With a short-run kit, expect to clean off flash and to dry-fit the parts thoroughly, and possibly to fill the joints a little. Paint the cockpit and the interior before closing up the fuselage. A natural metal finish comes out well under an airbrush over a smooth surface; a fine wash brings out the panel lines. Glue the small clear parts with super glue and a minimum of excess.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
