An injection-molded plastic model of the American Lockheed C-130J-30 Super Hercules transport aircraft in 1:144 scale from Academy. Even in this smaller scale it is a large model, thanks to the size of the real subject. It represents the stretched J-30 version with six-blade propellers and offers the rear loading ramp optionally open or closed. The package holds decals for several marking options.
The C-130 Hercules is a legendary four-engine turboprop transport aircraft serving all over the world. The C-130J Super Hercules version is a modernized generation with new engines and six-blade Dowty propellers; the J-30 variant has a stretched fuselage for a larger cargo hold. The aircraft handles takeoffs and landings from short and unpaved strips and serves for carrying cargo as well as paratroops.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; mask the transparent cockpit parts before painting. In 1:144 scale take care over clean joints and handle the small parts (propellers, landing gear) gently. Apply a primer before painting; depending on the scheme you choose, go for a restrained military gray or a bolder finish, and bring out the panels with a fine wash.
