1:144 Martin RB-57D Canberra is an injection-molded plastic kit of a high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft from the brand Sova Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit in injection-molded polystyrene captures the American RB-57D high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft in 1:144 scale. The brand Sova Model has long devoted itself to derived and less usual versions that are hard to come by, and this machine is one of them. In the package you will find plastic parts and a decal sheet; paints and glue are not included.
The type came about by rebuilding the B-57 bomber, which was the American license-built form of the British Canberra. For flight at extreme altitudes it was given a substantially wider and thinner wing, so its silhouette differs strikingly from the production bomber. The machines served the US Air Force for strategic reconnaissance in the 1950s and 1960s, and some of them later flew under the Taiwanese flag. The long straight wing makes the finished model a recognizable piece even among the other aircraft in a display case.
The span is large in relation to the fuselage, so glue the wing on a flat board and let the joint cure without a load, otherwise the dihedral will go out. Fill and sand the fuselage-to-wing transitions, because at this scale every step shows. Light and metallic shades settle best on a smoothly polished base; an airbrush will cover the areas more evenly than a brush.
The set comes unassembled and without a finish; get the glue and the paints separately.
