New Ware 1:144 Mask An-124 Ruslan ENGINES is a cut self-adhesive masking set aimed at the engine nacelles of the heavy cargo aircraft. It deals with color transitions on curved surfaces, where a decal fails.

Self-adhesive cut masks intended for building the An-124 Ruslan heavy cargo aircraft. The set is aimed at the engine nacelles and is cut for the particular Revell 04221 kit. On large transport machines it is the nacelles that tend to be the most awkward place: several color areas meet there on markedly curved shapes and a decal gives over them only with difficulty. Paint sprayed under a precisely cut mask holds the edge exactly where you want it.
The An-124 Ruslan is a four-engine cargo aircraft from the Antonov design bureau with a high-mounted wing and a hinged nose, which allows outsize loads to be taken on from the front as well as from the rear. It is powered by D-18T turbofan engines slung in nacelles under the wing. The machine is still among the largest production cargo aircraft, and in 1:144 scale it makes a model of respectable size.
Degrease the surface before applying and let it dry thoroughly. Pick the pieces up with tweezers, so that no fingerprints are left on the adhesive side. On the strongly curved nacelle lay the mask from the center toward the edges and press it down gradually, so that no crease forms anywhere. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a thick film of paint builds a step at the edge that shows against the light once the mask is lifted. Lift the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
This is a masking accessory, not a model or a kit. Paints and the kit are not included in the package.
