A resin set from Mark I intended for reworking a model of the Me 262A in 1:144 scale. According to the name it holds both conversion parts, which change the guise of the base model, and underwing armament. A model of the aircraft is not included in the package — the set is used on a kit you already own. The particular make-up and number of parts are stated on the box.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter to reach regular service. It was powered by two jet engines slung under a wing with a swept leading edge, which gave the type a speed advantage over the piston machines of the day. The operating reliability of the engines was low, however, and their life was counted in tens of hours. The A series took in fighter and fighter-bomber guises; the individual subversions differed above all in armament and equipment.
Wash the resin parts first in lukewarm soapy water — there tends to be mold release residue on the surface, under which neither glue nor paint will hold. Do not snap the casting blocks off: cut them away with a saw or a separate cut and sand the remainder down, ideally wet and with respiratory protection, because resin dust should not be breathed in. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); for small parts a drop applied with a toothpick is enough, and the joint can be speeded up with an accelerator. Before painting we recommend a primer — resin is smooth and paint holds on it less well on its own. Always try the mating surfaces dry and make up any differences against the plastic by sanding, not by force.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
