Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E is the version of the German single-seat fighter that formed the backbone of the fighter force at the beginning of the Second World War. It was powered by a liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 601 inverted V12, which gave the nose its characteristic slender shape with prominent bulges. The wing carries conspicuous underwing radiators and squared-off tips, and the cockpit has the heavily framed glazing of the canopy. The Bf 109E flew over France, Britain and the Mediterranean and carried very varied finishes, so it is a rewarding subject even in a small scale.
In 1:144 scale the model comes out with a span of roughly 7 cm and a length of about 6 cm. It is a size for a display case, where a whole row of machines fits side by side, and also a format that builds well over one or two evenings. The parts breakdown, the marking options offered and the recommended sequence are given in the instructions supplied.
In a small scale it pays to work with a sharp blade and fine sandpaper, because every unevenness shows once the model is painted. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Apply the paint in thin coats, so that the fine shapes of the surface are not lost, and keep the shading restrained, otherwise the model will look smaller than it is. Glue the canopy glazing on last, with a glue that leaves no milky film.
Paints, glue and modeling tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
