A kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter in 1:144 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil among the pilots, was the main German fighter of the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. It is a single-seat single-engine low-wing monoplane with a narrow fuselage, square-cut wingtips and landing gear attached to the fuselage, which made servicing easier but left the machine unsteady on the ground. It was powered by an inverted Daimler-Benz DB 601 V12, whose radiators on this version sit under the wings.
The model is supplied as a kit to be glued together and painted. Of the commonly built scales 1:144 is the smallest: the span of the model works out at barely seven centimeters, so the whole aircraft fits in a palm and the individual parts are correspondingly small. The extent of the set, the number of parts and the color options offered are shown in the manufacturer's instructions.
Offer the parts up dry first and only then glue them; at this scale a deviation in the seating of the wing tells on the overall impression more than on a large model. Dose the cement in the tiniest drops, as excess will fill the fine engraving. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Apply the paint in thin coats and guide the airbrush with feeling, because the soft transitions of camouflage are harder to do in a small scale than in any other. Leave the landing gear and the propeller until the end.
A kit is supplied. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
