A set of resin landing gear wheels for de Havilland Mosquito kits in 1:144 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. Even in a small scale the resin castings offer noticeably finer detail on the tread and the hubs than the original plastic parts, and they are designed as a direct replacement for the wheels from a kit.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine multirole aircraft of the Second World War, famous for its all-wood construction - it was nicknamed the Wooden Wonder. Thanks to its pair of Rolls-Royce Merlin engines it was among the fastest machines of its day and served as a fast bomber, a night fighter, and a reconnaissance and attack aircraft. The landing gear with its characteristic twin struts and smooth covers is among the clearly visible areas even on a model in 1:144 scale.
Separate the small castings from the casting block carefully with a sharp blade or a fine saw and sand the mating surfaces lightly with respiratory protection. Glue with a small drop of super glue. Paint the tires a very dark gray rather than pure black - it looks more natural - and the hubs according to the particular machine. A fine dust pigment will match the wheels to the rest of the landing gear.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; the basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
