1:144 RAF Hawker-Siddeley Argosy and Blackburn Beverley is an Xtradecal decal sheet with markings for models of two British transport aircraft in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals from the British manufacturer Xtradecal devoted to two British transport aircraft, the Argosy and the Beverley types, in 1:144 scale. It is printed markings for finishing off a model, not a kit. The small scale is popular with large transport machines, because even a bulky aircraft stays manageable in size.
The Argosy was a twin-boom transport aircraft with four Rolls-Royce Dart turboprops and a cargo hold accessible from the front and the rear. It served the Royal Air Force for carrying freight and paratroops, and a derived civil version flew with operators. The Beverley, against it, was a heavy transport machine with four Bristol Centaurus radials, a fixed undercarriage and a bulky fuselage with a tail boom that could take passengers as well. Both types belonged among the aircraft of the British transport service of the 1950s and 1960s.
On transport aircraft the markings often run in long bands across the whole fuselage, and such a decal is prone to tearing. Help yourself by bringing the paper with the decal straight to the spot and sliding the film onto the surface, instead of fishing it out into your hand. With older sheets that may have lain in storage for some time, it is worth going over the decals first with a thin coat of decal varnish, which strengthens a brittle carrier film so that it does not fall apart in the water.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
