A resin kit of the German half-track tractor Sd.Kfz. 2 Kettenkrad in 1:144 scale from the manufacturer Armory. The unmistakable machine with a motorcycle front end and tank tracks is a rewarding accessory to airfield and ground dioramas — in this scale you will appreciate it mainly beside aircraft in 1:144.
The Kettenkrad was developed by the NSU company as a light tractor for airborne and mountain units. The driver steered it by a motorcycle front fork, an Opel four-cylinder gasoline engine saw to the drive and the tracks did the main work. The machine pulled light weapons, trailers and field cabling, and it also made its name on field airfields, where it brought up ammunition and taxied aircraft to the parking apron. It served on the Eastern Front, in Africa and in Europe right up to the end of the war.
Separate the miniature castings from the casting blocks carefully with a sharp blade and keep them in a small box — small parts easily fly off. After washing them free of mold release agent, glue with super glue. A dark wash will bring the tracks out, gray Panzergrau or dark yellow with a mottled camouflage suits the body, and so does light dusting with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
