An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese Chengdu F-7MG fighter in the colors of the People's Liberation Army Air Force in the small 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. The small scale gives a compact model that suits a shelf as well as a collection. The set is meant to be glued together and painted.
The F-7 is a Chinese family of light fighters derived from the concept of the Soviet MiG-21. The upgraded F-7MG version received a new wing with a double-delta treatment of the leading edge, which improved its agility and handling, and more modern avionics. The machine served with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and was also offered for export.
In the small 1:144 scale, take care to glue the fuselage joints cleanly and to clean them up finely. Bond the small parts with thin plastic cement. Bring out the cockpit and the landing gear with a light wash. For the Chinese gray finishes, an airbrush and gentle preshading of the panel lines work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The glue, the paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
