An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet jet bomber and missile carrier Tupolev Tu-16K-10 Badger C in 1:144 scale from Trumpeter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet twin-engined jet bomber Tupolev Tu-16 in the K-10 version (NATO reporting name Badger C) in 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. It is the naval missile-carrying variant with a large radar in the nose and an anti-ship guided missile under the fuselage.
The Tu-16 was among the first Soviet jet bombers; it entered service in the middle of the 1950s. The K-10 version was meant for the fight against surface ships and carrier groups: in its characteristic flat nose it carried a search radar and under the fuselage a heavy anti-ship guided missile K-10S (NATO reporting name AS-2 Kipper). The machine could therefore attack targets from a great distance, beyond the reach of shipborne air defense.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Glue the glazing of the cockpit with canopy glue so that it stays clear, and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Assemble and paint the missile slung beneath it and its pylon separately. Soviet naval machines carried mostly metallic gloss or light surfaces, so accentuate the panel lines with a wash after the gloss coat and the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
