The plastic kit Mark I 1:144 Wessex HC.2/HAR.2 captures the British multirole Westland Wessex helicopter in the transport and rescue versions of the Royal Air Force.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale represents the British Westland Wessex helicopter in the HC.2 (transport) and HAR.2 (rescue) versions used by the Royal Air Force. The package holds clear parts and a decal sheet with several marking options.
The Westland Wessex came about as a British licensed development of the Sikorsky S-58 and was powered by turbine engines. The HC.2 version served with the RAF as a reliable transport and liaison machine, while the HAR.2 was intended for search and rescue. The Wessex became one of the proven British helicopters of the postwar period.
The smaller scale speeds the build up and suits a shelf. Clean the joints of the fuselage up and glue the clear parts with canopy glue. For transport and rescue schemes, matte or semi-gloss shades applied with an airbrush are the right choice; the panel lines can be brought out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
