This item is not a kit but an accessory for a model. It is a decal set with technical stencils for the MiG-23 in 1:32 scale from the maker HGW. Stencils are the small service legends, the markings at filler necks, the warnings by the air intakes and similar texts that a real aircraft carries all over its surface. On a model it is a detail that does not look at all conspicuous at first glance, but that decides how convincing the model is when seen close up.
The decals included with kits tend to concentrate on national insignia and personal markings, whereas the small service legends are often simplified or missing altogether. In the large 1:32 scale that tells most, because the legends on a model are big enough to be read. A separate stencil set fills that gap.
Give the area under the decal a coat of gloss varnish, or air will be trapped under the thin film and the edges will silver. Carry the small stencils to their place with round-tipped tweezers or a damp brush, and draw off the excess water. On engraved lines and rivets a decal softener helps, pulling the decal down into the surface. Work section by section and let each area dry so that you do not catch a legend you have just laid down. At the end, give the whole model a coat of matte varnish, which unifies the decal with the surrounding paint.
