HGW 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 painting masks for cleanly spraying the glazing of a model of the German fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of painting masks in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker HGW makes it easier to spray the glazing frames and other clear parts of a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 fighter. It is an accessory for masking during painting, not a kit.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, was the main German fighter in the opening years of the Second World War. The E-3 version with cannon in the wings played a prominent part in the Battle of Britain and is among the best-known airframes of its day.
The masks follow the shape of the cockpit frames exactly, which gives sharp transitions between the frame color and the clear area of the glazing with no laborious laying down of strips of tape. In 1:72 scale, with its tiny frames, this is a particularly practical aid.
Degrease the clear parts first. Transfer the individual masks onto the glass, press them down carefully along the edges of the frames and apply the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. Once dry, peel the masks off carefully.
The package contains masks only; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
