This item is not a kit: it is a finished collector model in 1:72 scale from Dragon. It arrives assembled, painted and with the markings applied, so all you have to do is unpack it and stand it in a display case. The subject is the T-34/85 medium tank in Chinese army service. The 1:72 scale is a rewarding one for collector models of vehicles: the model takes up little space but is big enough for the running gear, the hatches and the armament to be legible on it.
The T-34/85 is a late development version of the Soviet T-34 medium tank, distinguished from 1944 above all by a larger three-man turret with an 85 mm gun. Compared with the earlier versions with the 76 mm gun, the machine gained substantially heavier armament and better conditions for the crew, because the commander no longer had to handle the gunnery as well. Characteristic of it are the sloped armor plates of the hull, wide tracks and Christie-type suspension with large road wheels. After the Second World War the T-34/85 spread to a number of other armies including the Chinese one, where it long remained part of the basic armored inventory.
A finished model is meant for display, not for play. It looks best in a display case or on a shelf out of direct sunlight, which over time changes the shade of the applied paints. Dust is best removed from the surface with a soft brush or a blower for camera lenses; a cloth could damage the fine applied markings. The model can also be stood on a diorama base, and it keeps a consistent size with other models of the same scale.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not a kit and no building work is expected on it.
