The set 1:32 F-4EJ Kai White Eagle 302nd Sq. Anniversary Paint Mask Set contains masks for the light commemorative coloring with a bird of prey motif.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three sheets of masks for the light commemorative coloring of the F-4EJ Kai with a large bird of prey along the fuselage. The basis is a thin covering tape, which can be raised and laid on again without trouble if the first seating does not come off. The masks are sold without the kit itself.
For the farewell to the type the unit prepared two aircraft: this light one and a dark counterpart to go with it. The motifs of both agreed in broad outline; what differed was mainly the drawing of the bird's head and the supplementary lettering. Both machines then toured air shows and became the most photographed Japanese Phantoms of all; their coloring referred to the eagle in the badge of the unit. It was precisely this pair that a number of accessory manufacturers reached for as well.
A white layer reveals every unevenness, so the seams are first filled and sanded and only then does the base come in turn. The masks are laid onto perfectly cured paint, with a day's interval if need be. Fresh paint could tear away along with the tape during removal, and repairing a light area is always a lengthy business. It also pays to start with the finest parts, while the hand is still steady.
