A pair of British helmets of the Second World War period in 1:16 scale. An accessory for figures, busts and for the gear on a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings two British helmets of the Second World War period in the large 1:16 scale. According to the name, the number of pieces is two, so you have one helmet for a figure and the second one free, for example laid down on the gear, on a crate or in a figure's hand.
1:16 scale is the domain of large figures and busts, where every detail shows. That is exactly why it pays to replace the helmet from the original kit with a part that has a thinner rim and a cleaner shape. The second piece will serve in a scene as a small narrative element: a helmet laid down beside a seated soldier says more about the situation than another weapon.
Cut the surplus material and the traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off with fine paper so that the rim of the helmet stays the same thickness all the way round. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. British helmets were painted in flat khaki shades and their surface tends to be rough rather than smooth, which stands out when you add a slight lightening of the crown and a darker glaze into the shadow under the rim to the base color. The inner strap or a camouflage net can be suggested with a thin strip of foil or netting. If you are fitting the helmet to a figure, check dry how it sits on the head and even out any play by sanding from the inside, not from the outer rim.
Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
