While the other variants of this range carry a dimension in millimeters in the name, this one gives a scale. The brand marks its other sets for large models the same way, so it is an established form of notation by the supplier. The contents are imitations of bolt heads for fitting afterwards, not a kit.
Models in 1:16 are built as static display pieces as well as radio-controlled vehicles, and their surfaces are large. Any shortcoming of the surface therefore shows much sooner than on small models, and smooth plates without fasteners look unconvincing. Accurately made hexagons bring light into play on the armor and help the impression of a real structure that was bolted together somewhere.
Divide large surfaces into sections and fit them step by step, otherwise you easily lose track of the spacing. The layout derives from photographs of the real subject, or from a drawing in a specialist publication. When drilling, support the part from inside so that a thin wall does not flex. Finished joints will take even stronger weathering, because on real machines dirt collects most around bolts.
