1:16 German military boots low is a modeling accessory for figures and dioramas in the large 1:16 scale: low German military footwear as a separate part.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a separate modeling accessory, not a kit of a figure or a vehicle. It brings low German military footwear in the large 1:16 scale, that is in the ratio in which figures around twelve centimeters tall are built. A large scale forgives nothing small: the footwear is visible close up on the figure and a simplified sole shape or a softly formed instep spoils the impression of the whole figure. Separate footwear is therefore used as a replacement for the original parts, as an object left lying in the interior of a scene or as the basis for a conversion of the pose.
The German infantry entered the Second World War in Marschstiefel jackboots. For reasons of economy these were gradually replaced during the war by low lace-up footwear worn together with canvas gaiters, and from the middle of the war it predominated in newly equipped units. For modelers the type of footwear is a dating feature: it tells the viewer which part of the war the scene belongs to, and footwear that does not match is among the mistakes someone who knows the subject will notice at first glance.
Modelers of figures in large scales, builders of dioramas on German subjects and anyone who adjusts figures into poses of their own will appreciate it. The work is manageable even for a less experienced modeler, but it does assume a steady hand at sanding and fitting small parts.
