1:16 Old Handpump is an old hand pump for water for building a diorama in the large 1:16 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but a separate element of the setting.
Responsibility details are not available.
An old water pump was among the most ordinary features of a country yard. In the large 1:16 scale even a small structure comes out big enough for the lever, the spout and the drain trough to be visible on it, so it easily becomes the focal point of a smaller scene. The accessory fills out the setting around a finished model and on its own represents neither equipment nor a figure.
From the nineteenth century until the middle of the twentieth, piston pumps served as the main source of water on farms, in gardens, by workshops and on village greens. In the time of the Second World War they stood practically everywhere in European villages, and soldiers topped up jerrycans and field kitchens at them. In period shots from France and from the Eastern Front they appear again and again.
The large 1:16 scale is used for sizeable figures and radio-controlled models, so the surroundings of the pump will bear plenty of detail: paving, a puddle, trampled mud. Metal comes across believably when a dark base is lightened with a dry brush and rust is added only where water really collects. At the foot there tends to be a permanently damp rim, which is created by darkening the soil and a glossy layer at the end.
It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; you will not find paints or glue in the package.
