The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier from the period of the Second World War and was among the most widespread vehicles of its kind. Its chassis joined two different solutions: at the rear ran a tracked chassis, which carried most of the weight and ensured cross-country mobility over terrain, while at the front was a pair of steered wheels without drive. It was just this combination that gave the vehicle its characteristic appearance, and at the same time it means that the front wheels are clearly visible on a model from the side and from the front.
The set replaces the wheels of the front axle with wheels having an off-road tread pattern, that is with a coarser tread meant for a soft surface. The brand of tire corresponds to the rendering given in the name. The set is prepared for Das Werk kits. At 1:16 the wheel is a fairly large part, so the sharpness of the tread pattern and the cleanness of the sidewall show on it, and a replacement part does more work here than in small scales.
Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on resin and metal super glue holds. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down, so as not to encroach on the shape of the tire. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. First spray the whole wheel in the tone of the tire and then paint the disk in with a brush or through a mask. While seating them, check that both wheels stand symmetrically and have the same steering angle, otherwise the vehicle looks as though it were turning. The particular procedure for preparing the parts is in the manufacturer's instructions.
