A sizeable injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet medium tank T-34/85 Model 1944 from the production of Factory No.183, in the large 1:16 scale from the brand Trumpeter. Thanks to the 1:16 scale it is a very large and detailed model with rich contents: it offers a complete interior with the engine, the driver's compartment and the turret, working suspension with metal springs, two frets of photo-etched sheet and individual link tracks. The exact total number of parts is given in the instructions enclosed.
The T-34/85 was the late and most capable production version of the legendary Soviet medium tank T-34. Compared with the earlier form it received a new three-man turret and a more powerful 85 mm ZIS-S-53 gun, in order to face the German Tiger and Panther tanks more effectively. It was built from 1944 in large numbers and became one of the key tanks of the closing period of the Second World War. The designation Factory No.183 refers to the particular production plant.
The large 1:16 scale shows in the detail; it pays to assemble and paint the interior, the engine, the running gear and the tracks before the hull is closed up. Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched and metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. In the large format layered transitions, edge highlighting by dry brushing, dark washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the running gear and the tracks all come into their own.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
