A masking set for the canopy of a model of the Fairey Barracuda 1:48. The templates are cut for the Special Hobby kit, have a ready-made shape and are stuck straight onto the clear part, so nothing has to be cut from masking tape.

This item is not a kit but an accessory for spraying: a set of masks for the canopy glazing of a model of the British carrier-based Fairey Barracuda from the Special Hobby kit in 1:48 scale. The masks are stuck onto the clear part, cover the transparent areas and leave only the frames free, which can then be sprayed with an airbrush together with the surroundings.
The Barracuda is a single-engine carrier-based machine with a high-set wing and a long, many-part canopy for a crew of several. It is precisely that canopy that gives modelers the greatest trouble: it has a lot of separate panes and long straight frames, on which every slip of the knife during hand cutting of tape is visible at first glance.
First wash and degrease the clear part, then let it dry completely. Transfer the masks one at a time with tweezers, settle them along the frame and press them down with a soft toothpick. With a long canopy it is a good idea to proceed systematically from one end, as it is easy to lose track of which pane is already covered. Spray the paint thinly and remove the masks as soon as it has set.
The package contains masks for the glazing only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
