An etched instrument panel for the MiG-15 kit in the early version, 1:72 scale, the Airfix kit. It replaces the plastic part in the cockpit with a finely detailed metal part.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-15 was a Soviet fighter with a swept wing which became one of the most widespread machines of the 1950s and served in many countries. The designation Early in the name of the set refers to the early guise of the aircraft, that is, to machines before the later modernized version. The cockpit is clearly visible on a model under the one-piece canopy, and the instrument panel is its most conspicuous part.
An etched metal part of the instrument panel for the MiG-15 kit in the early version in 1:72 scale from the firm Airfix. Etching gives the panel crisp edges to the bezels and legible outlines of the individual instruments, which cannot be achieved with injected plastic at this scale.
The part is attached to the carrier sheet by thin tabs. Cut them with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by bending, otherwise the edge of the part will ripple. Degrease the metal surface before painting and apply a primer for metal. It is glued with super glue or glue for etched parts; ordinary glue for polystyrene does not hold on metal.
The set suits modelers who want to improve the cockpit without interfering with the structure of the model. A sharp blade, tweezers and a steady hand are enough; no sanding or filling of plastic is needed for it. Let the glued panel dry out thoroughly before you close the cockpit up.
In the package there is only the etched part named. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
