Circles 4,0 mm (130x90mm) Oramask foil

Circular masks 4.0 mm - Oramask masking foil

An Omask masking sheet with pre-cut circles 4.0 mm in diameter; the masking medium is Oramask masking foil. It is a universal aid for the bench, not a set for one particular model, and it therefore suits any job in progress where a circular shape turns up. You just lift the disc off the sheet and stick it on, with no marking out and no cutting from tape.

What circular masks are used for

A small circle of this diameter suits wheel hubs and centers, light covers and position lights, vision ports, openings and raised bosses, circular elements of markings, and spotted camouflage where the same shape repeats regularly across the whole surface. You will reach for it when painting an interior too, where round instruments have to be covered or, conversely, a small circular patch of color created. Because the masks are universal, they serve across scales and kinds of subject, that is, on aircraft, vehicles, ships and accessories for figures.

How to work with the mask

The surface has to be clean, degreased and perfectly dry; do not stick a mask onto fresh paint. Use tweezers and the tip of a scalpel to help you place it, put the mask exactly where it belongs the first time and then press it down all the way round. It pays to spray the area first with the base color, which closes any microscopic gaps under the edge of the mask, and only then to apply the target shade. Spray thinly and lift the mask shortly after the paint has set.

Version and choosing a variant

Omask offers the same pattern in two masking media: as Oramask masking foil and as yellow masking tape. The variant offered here is with Oramask foil. The shape and the dimensions are the same in both; only the medium differs, so choose according to what you are used to working with on the bench.

Who the sheet is for

• modelers who want exact circles without hand-cutting
• painting wheels, lights, hatches and round details
• mottled camouflage and repeating circular shapes
• a universal companion to ordinary masking tape on the bench

Paints, thinners and tools are not included in the package.
