This item is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for one. It is resin main landing gear wheels for a model of the Bf 109 of the G series in 1:48 scale, with a screwed disc and a slick tire 660 x 190 mm in size. The wheels replace the plastic parts of the base kit.
The wide wheel 660 x 190 mm in size belongs to the late machines of the G series and is one of the most striking distinguishing features of the landing gear. A slick tire with no tread pattern is the second defining detail - on a model the difference from a treaded tire is apparent at first glance, so it pays to choose according to the particular machine. The casting is made in one piece, so no mold parting line arises on the tire, which you would otherwise have to sand away.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that they are rid of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a modeling saw and level the surface with a file. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic cement has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting. Paint the tire dark gray rather than pure black and, once it is dry, dust it lightly with pigments; a slick tire with no tread takes a somewhat stronger patina, because there is otherwise nothing on it to bring out. Mask the disc with a template or with a circle punched from adhesive tape.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
