The Harrier AV-8A, GR.1/GR.3 ADVANCED Kabuki Masks 1:48 set from New Ware - pre-cut masks at the extended level for masking the glazing and other areas of a model from the Kinetic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pre-cut masking set for models of the first-generation Harrier, that is, of the AV-8A and GR.1/GR.3 versions in 1:48 scale from the Kinetic kit. The masks are stuck onto the clear part and onto the areas that are to stay free of paint, spraying is done over them and once dry they are taken off. With New Ware, ADVANCED is a statement of the scope of the set and distinguishes it from both the basic and the highest variant of the same range.
The glazing of the first-generation Harrier is tall, with a pronounced frame around the windscreen and with side areas that converge at sharp angles. Straight masking tape bends on a shape like that, and the edge is then neither straight nor equally wide on both sides. A pre-cut mask is cut exactly to the geometry of the part, so the frames come out symmetrical first time.
Wash the clear part, degrease it and let it dry. Lay the masks on with tweezers and press them down with a soft tool around the whole perimeter. It works well to spray the edge with a thin layer of base color - that seals the edge and the final shade does not run under it. Once dry, take the masks off with a pull at an angle; kabuki paper usually leaves no adhesive residue behind, but any film is removed with a soft cloth.
The set is cut for the Kinetic kit in 1:48 scale - check that you have the matching model. The paints and the model are not included in the package.
