A scatter material of the TERRAFORM range in a desert stone finish, the fine variant designated Thin. It serves to create the surface of terrain on a diorama and on a base.
Responsibility details are not available.
Terrain decides whether a scene reads as convincing more than the model itself does. A bare board with sprayed paint stays flat, while a scatter gives the surface a real grain for light to catch on and shadow to form. A desert stone finish suits parched ground, the loose edges of tracks, scree at the foot of rock faces and the dusty ground under a vehicle, where it should be clear that the machine has just stopped and thrown up dust.
A loose material of the TERRAFORM range for creating terrain. The Thin designation distinguishes the finer variant within the range, and the manufacturer gives the exact grain and the volume of the package on the packaging. It suits dioramas as well as the bases of individual models, and across scales, because the resulting impression is decided more by the size of the grain against the model than by the particular scale.
First coat the base with PVA glue and pour the material onto it, then tap the excess off. Fix the layer with thinned glue applied drop by drop; a drop of dish soap in it makes sure the glue soaks into the scatter instead of standing on it. Let it dry until the next day and only then tone the surface. Terrain made up of several grain sizes looks natural, with the coarser grain lying in the hollows and the fine grain holding on the flats.
Glue, paints, a base and modeling tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
