A loose mix of stones and grit from the TERRAFORM line for building dry, stony terrain on a diorama or on a display base.
Responsibility details are not available.
A loose scenic material from the TERRAFORM line intended for creating a stony surface on a diorama, on a display base or on a standalone modeling base. The mix of stones and grit imitates dry terrain with small fragments, the kind that suits vehicles and figures from dry and desert regions.
First cover the area with a layer of binder, that is thin glue or a modeling paste, and scatter the material into it. Once it has set, tap the excess off. The loose parts are consolidated with diluted white glue, dripped on with a pipette or a brush so that it soaks in between the grains. Build the layers up gradually, from a finer base to coarser stones; the largest pieces are better placed individually with tweezers, so that the surface does not look uniform.
The shade is fine-tuned with heavily thinned paint or with pigments. A dry brush brings out the edges of the stones, while a darker cast in the gaps deepens the shadows between them. Apply the paint in thin coats and preferably in two passes, so that it does not flood the texture and clog the gaps between the grains. The manufacturer's instructions give the thinning ratio for the binder and the recommended procedure.
For builders of dioramas, display scenes and bases for individual models who want a genuinely grainy surface under a vehicle instead of a smooth board. Binder, paints, pigments and a base are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
