A red marble pattern supplied as die-cut square pieces. They are assembled into paving, so they also suit a surface that should have visible joints and irregularities, for instance the floor of a damaged interior where some of the tiles are missing or broken out.
Shaping to a plinth. The pieces are small enough to be laid on the top of the plinth of a bust or a figure. Around an oval or round plinth the outermost pieces have to be cut to the outline; the simplest way is to trace the outline with a pencil from below and cut piece by piece rather than the whole surface at once.
Combining with other surfaces. Marble paving comes into its own in contrast with a coarse material, that is with rubble, planks or concrete. Run the transition between them irregularly along the edges of the tiles, not in a straight line; such an edge then looks like a genuinely broken-out floor.
For builders of interior scenes and for bust modelers looking for a striking colored backing with the relief of joints. Look for the size of the pieces and their number in the package on the box.
