A set of masking stencils for a model of the OV-10A Bronco aircraft in 1:72 scale, in the EXPERT form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine observation and light attack aircraft with turboprop engines and a conspicuous pair of tail booms. The OV-10A version is its original form. The crew sit in tandem one behind the other and the cabin is glazed literally all the way round, so that the crew can also see down onto the ground. That is exactly what makes it the most laborious place of the whole build on a model.
Cutting masking tape for each frame separately is time-consuming, and with glazing as intricate as this accuracy is hard to find. Stencils cut in advance match the shape of a part and the boundary of the paint comes out crisp and symmetrical on both sides. The EXPERT designation distinguishes the form of the set within the range; the exact extent of the stencils is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The glazing has to be clean, dry and degreased, so that a stencil holds and the paint does not run underneath. Fit the stencils before spraying, not after, and press the edges down carefully; tweezers or a toothpick suit transferring the small pieces. Apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise a step forms at the edge. Take a stencil off soon after the paint has dried, while it comes away easily, and pull it at an angle across the edge rather than straight up.
An aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The exact extent of the set is given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
