A-20 Havoc — early type pilot seat set 1:32 from Art Scale, with fabric seat belts and photo-etched buckles. A cockpit accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an aircraft model but a detail set for the pilot seat in 1:32 scale from Art Scale. According to the name it is the early form of the seat, and fabric seat belts and photo-etched buckles are included. The seat replaces the simplified plastic part from the kit and, together with the belts, gives the Havoc's cockpit a considerably more credible look. Check the material of the seat and the total number of parts against the details given on the box.
Seats molded from plastic tend to be thick-walled and without the texture of upholstery, and in the large 1:32 scale that shows at first glance. A replacement seat has sharper edges, a thinner profile and noticeable relief. Fabric belts can also be folded naturally and left to drape freely over the edge of the cushion, which photo-etched metal manages only to a limited extent. Photo-etched buckles hold their shape and look like metal once painted.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry thoroughly, so that the primer will hold. Cut away any casting residue with a sharp blade and sand the surface gently. Glue the seat with cyanoacrylate; the fabric belts only need tacking in place with fabric glue or with thin cyanoacrylate. Bend the buckles with tweezers over an edge, not in your fingers. Once the seat is painted, bring it to life with a dark wash into the recesses and light drybrushing of the edges.
