1:48 B-17 WOODEN FLOORS + AMMO BOXES - LIGHT WOOD - OBTISK

B-17 wooden floors and boxes, light wood 1:48 (HGW)

A set of waterslide decals from the maker HGW that faithfully imitates the structure of wood on the floors and ammunition boxes on a model of the B-17 bomber in 1:48 scale. The light wood shade gives the interior a warm, realistic look without the need to paint the grain laboriously with oil paints. The decals are not transparent, so they create a complete wooden surface on their own.

The real subject

The interior of the B-17 heavy bomber contained wooden floor gratings and boxes for storing ammunition for the machine guns. A faithful rendering of wood markedly enlivens the otherwise metallic and technical interior of the machine.

Application

• It is recommended to prepare the surfaces with a white base coat and smooth it lightly.
• The decals are applied as ordinary waterslide decals with the help of a softener and a fixer.
• Once dry, the surface can be toned and flattened with a clear varnish.

Who the set is for

• Builders of the B-17 model who want to render the wooden elements quickly and convincingly.
• Modelers who do not feel up to painting wood grain by hand.

This is not a paint and not a kit but an add-on set of decals. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
