1:48 B-17 WOODEN FLOORS + AMMO BOXES - PINE TREE

B-17 wooden floors and boxes, pine 1:48 (HGW)

A set of HGW waterslide decals that imitates the structure of pine wood on the floors and ammunition boxes on a model of the B-17 bomber in 1:48 scale. The more faded pine shade gives the interior an authentic, used look. The decals are not transparent, so they create the whole wooden surface on their own without the need for laborious painting with oil paints.

The real subject

The interior of the B-17 heavy bomber contained wooden floor gratings and boxes for ammunition. A realistic rendering of wood markedly enlivens the otherwise technical interior and is a rewarding detail on models built open.

Application

• The surfaces are prepared with a white base coat, which is lightly smoothed.
• The decals are applied as ordinary waterslide decals with the help of a softener and a fixer.
• Once dry, the surface is toned if wished and flattened with a clear varnish.

Who the set is for

• Builders of the B-17 model who want to render the wooden elements quickly.
• Modelers who prefer the look of lighter, faded pine.

This is not a paint and not a kit but an add-on set of decals. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
