Holographic film for simulating the glass of the periscopes and the headlights on a 1:35 model of the T-55AM tank, prepared for the Takom kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The T-55AM is an upgraded version of the Soviet T-55 medium tank. Compared with the basic machine it received add-on armor and improved fire control equipment, so a number of new details appeared on the turret and the hull. Among them are the optical devices, which stand out on a finished model precisely because they catch the light differently than the surrounding paint.
A film with a holographic effect for a 1:35 model of the T-55AM, covering the lenses, the lights and the periscope glass. Its purpose is to keep the vision ports, the instrument glass and the headlights from looking like a painted surface and to let them reflect light with depth, the way real glass does. According to the name, the set is prepared for the Takom kit. The number of parts and their placement on the model are given in the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the set.
Release the parts only once the model is painted and clear-coated, because no further work can be done on finished optics. Cut them out exactly along the outline with a sharp blade and move them with smooth-jawed tweezers, as a fingerprint shows on the film. Degrease the surface before seating them. If the film is not self-adhesive, use a glue intended for clear parts that will not haze the surface; super glue can leave a white bloom on the film. It pays to outline the seated vision port with a thin dark line so that the glass visually recedes into its frame.
The tank kit, paints, varnishes and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
