The M60 is one of those types that have been appearing in kits for decades, and older molds tend to be more modest in detail than today's releases. On them the vision ports and periscopes are often no more than shallow suggestions that disappear altogether once sprayed. The film solves this shortcoming from the surface: without having to drill or cut into the model, the optics gain the color and the shine that the plastic lacks. It is one of the few ways to help an older kit quickly and without risk.
Let the model reach its finish, which means clear-coated, decalled and weathered. Only then wipe the seat of the vision port, let it dry and seat the film with tweezers. Do not paint it and do not clear-coat it, as either will cancel the effect. If the mating surface on an older casting is uneven, level it with fine abrasive paper before clear-coating, not with the film already in hand.
