Holographic film Nagmachon Early 1:35 from SX-Art replaces the blind plastic vision ports and optical glass on a model of the Israeli heavy carrier with a glossy transparent surface that needs no painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for modelers, not a kit. Plastic kits have the glass of the periscopes, vision ports and instruments molded blind, so it can only be painted dark. This set replaces it with a clear film that seats into a cleaned recess and behaves in the light like the real glass of an instrument. It is intended for a model of the Israeli Nagmachon heavy armored personnel carrier in its early form.
Most of the work happens before the part is seated. The blind plastic glass is carefully cut or sanded out of the casting so that a flat, clean floor is left with no burrs from the cut. Leave the frame around the vision port untouched, as it holds the proportions of the part. Then sand the floor with the finest paper, draw the dust out thoroughly and only then try the dry fit. Sanding dust left under the film shows more than any inaccuracy at the edge.
The Nagmachon is an Israeli heavy armored personnel carrier built on the chassis of the Centurion tank. Its characteristic feature is the raised firing superstructure, which has come to be nicknamed the Doghouse. The early and later forms differ in the layout of the superstructure and of the add-on protection; this set matches the early version.
