Double-sided express masks for the TBD-1 Devastator (1:48)

A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks for the plastic model of the American carrier-borne TBD-1 Devastator torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale. The double-sided version means masks for the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing, so the frames have clean paint from both views. Express masks are pre-cut to their final shape. It is an accessory for painting, not a kit. The masks are die-cut to the shape of the Great Wall Hobby kit.

The real subject

The Douglas TBD Devastator was an American carrier-borne torpedo bomber, in its day a modern all-metal monoplane. In the early stage of the war in the Pacific it served with the US Navy and became known for its part in the early carrier battles. The long glazed cockpit with its many frames is demanding to mask.

Use

• Stick the masks onto the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing according to the numbering in the instructions.
• We recommend spraying the color of the inner frames first and the outer shade afterwards.
• Once the paint has dried, remove the masks carefully.
• The pre-cut shape shortens the preparation compared with tape by hand.
