The kit comes from the Japanese company Fujimi and belongs to its car range in 1:24 scale. According to the manufacturer the package contains plastic and rubber parts, a sheet of decals applied in water, assembly instructions and painting instructions. The model is built in the classic way, that is, by gluing and painting.
The Skyline GT-R of the R33 generation was introduced in 1995 and built until 1998. It followed on from the very successful R32 and brought a longer and stiffer body, a reworked chassis and an improved all-wheel drive system. Under the hood worked the RB26DETT inline six-cylinder engine of 2.6 liters with two turbochargers, supplemented by a system with a variable split of driving force between the axles and a controlled differential on the rear axle. It was precisely this combination that gave the Skyline GT-R a reputation as a car that holds its line even in the wet and in fast corners. The R33 generation long stood in the shadow of its predecessor, and only in recent years has it won a collector's standing of its own.
Period shades and a deep gloss suit the body of a GT-R. Use a filler primer, wet-sand it and apply the paint in thin coats; the final gloss varnish can be polished once it has cured. Lay the decals on a gloss surface, so that no silvery edges stay under them. Clean the rubber tires before fitting them, so that any weathering will take. The wheel arches and the ride height are among the details that decide the final impression the most, so dry-fit them before gluing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
