A fantasy figure from the Oda Models author's line. Unlike most of this line, which is built on busts in 1:12 scale, this is a figure in 1:24 scale, that is, the classic format of a collector's figure displayed on a base. The subject of a wind dancer is about movement: the essence of the model is a dynamic pose and flowing cloth, not armament or equipment.
A collector's model of this kind deserves honest preparation before painting. Clean it of casting residue, remove the sprue gates and gently sand the mold seams down, so that they do not appear under the paint. If the model is in parts, try the parts dry first, and only then join them and fill and sand the resulting gaps with modeling putty. Then unify the whole surface with a primer, ideally from a can or with an airbrush in thin coats, so that the detail is not lost.
Figures in movement are painted differently from static ones. First decide where the light comes from and keep to it over the whole figure, including the flying parts, otherwise the movement falls apart. Build the flowing cloth with thin glazes from a dark base up to the highlights and keep the transitions as smooth as possible, as sharp contrast looks hard here. Hair and cloth in movement will take a slight color shift against the body, so that they come away from the rest. Leave the face until last. Unify the whole model with matte varnish and leave only the eyes and any jewelry glossy.
