A kit of plastic bricks in 1:12 scale capturing one of the most iconic European automobiles of the twentieth century. It is not a glued plastic model: the parts are already colored and join by clipping together, so there is no gluing, filling or spraying. You proceed step by step according to pictorial instructions, and the finished car is strong, can be handled and, when the mood for a change comes, can be taken apart again. The designation Executive Edition refers to a particular edition in the range of the maker.
The Citroën DS 19 was presented in the middle of the 1950s and looked as though it had arrived from another decade. The teardrop body with hidden rear wheels, exceptionally low air resistance and above all the hydropneumatic suspension, which literally lifted the car into its driving position once started, made it a technical sensation. The hydraulics on it looked after not only the suspension but also the brake servo and the steering. The DS model stayed in production for two decades and to this day belongs among the most recognizable automotive shapes of all.
The build proceeds according to pictorial instructions, the parts join by pressure and you need no tools or chemicals for it. It pays off to divide the bricks into bowls by size and color before building, because on a model of this size that saves a lot of searching. Build on a flat surface and keep checking against the instructions whether the orientation of the parts is right, because correcting a mistake twenty steps later is needless work. The finished model is best kept out of direct sunlight, so that the colors do not fade.
