Quickboost 1:48 F-4E/G Phantom II FOD covers is an add-on set of air intake covers for Phantom models in the F-4E and F-4G versions in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail for a model you already have under construction.

This item is not an aircraft model but a detail set from the Quickboost brand that adds air intake covers to a Phantom model. On the real machine these covers are fitted over the engine intakes whenever the aircraft stands on the ramp, so that no foreign object gets into the compressor. On a model they do the same as on the original: they cover the black intake openings, which on a parked aircraft otherwise look empty, and at first glance they say that the machine is parked.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E is the most widespread version of the Phantom II. It has a built-in gun in the nose and a pair of General Electric J79 turbojets. The F-4G Wild Weasel V version comes directly from it, created by converting F-4E airframes into a specialized machine for suppressing enemy air defenses. Precisely for that reason both versions have identical air intake shapes and one set of covers serves both.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry, or the paint will hold poorly on them. They are glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. On real aircraft the covers tend to be conspicuously colorful, so it pays to spray them separately and fit them to the model only at the very end, after the airframe has been flattened and weathered. Do any sanding wet and with respiratory protection.
This is an add-on set, not an aircraft kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
